COMMEMORATING THIS YEAR’S DECEASED

Each year we remember those belonging to the parish who died since the last bereavement Mass on the first Friday of November. Also, parishioners who have close family losses elsewhere usually request their names to be included in the Mass prayers of the Sunday following the funeral. These are also remembered.

Loving mother of Cathal, Darragh, Ciara and Caoimhe, and beloved daughter of Johanna and the late John, “Barleyfield House”, and aunt of the late John O’Connor, Lismire.
Eilís’s Funeral Cortège will be leaving her home on Thursday at 11.30am approx. via Shanakiel on route to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain for a Private Requiem Mass at 12 noon which will be livestreamed on Jeremiah Cremin Facebook page, funeral afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.

Adrian (Adie) O’Sullivan, Dangan and Knockbrown,
died Thursday 10th Sept.
beloved son of William and Kitty (nee Casey), and dear brother of Michael, Liam, Eamon, Brian and the late Martin.
Adie’s Funeral Cortège will be leaving his home on Monday at 11.15am approx. via Knockbrown, Barleyfield and Shanakiel on route to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain for a Private Requiem Mass at 12 noon which will be livestreamed on Jeremiah Cremin Facebook page, funeral afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.

EILEEN GALVIN, Cripple Hill

On November 25th 2019 in the tender and loving care of the Staff at Clonakilty Community Hospital. Eileen, beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Mary, and sister of the late Denis and John and sister-in-law of the late Phil.
Sadly missed by her loving brother Matt, sister-in-law Joan, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Lying in repose in Clonakilty Community Hospital Chapel on Tuesday from 5.30pm followed by Removal at 7pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain (via Bandon). Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon, funeral afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.

Eileen O’Sullivan, Lower Granassig.

November 14th 2019 peacefully at the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork. Eileen (Lily) (nee Coughlan). Predeceased by her loving husband John Joe, and her sisters Sheila and Mary. Sadly missed by her son Jim, daughters Carolanne, Mary, Diana and Therese, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brother Dan, sister Hannah, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Lying in repose at Gabriel and O’Donovan’s Funeral Home, Bandon on Saturday from 4.30pm followed by Removal at 6pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain followed by Rosary. Funeral on Sunday after 10.30am Mass to the adjoining cemetery.

passed away on Mon 4th Nov. Our sympathy to his wife, Maura, and family.
Reposing in Gabriel & O’Donovan’s Funeral Home, Bandon on Tue 5th November from 5.00 pm with rosary at 7.00 pm. Reception into Kilbrittain church on Wed 6th at 11.00 am for 12.00 noon funeral Mass. Burial in Kilbrittain cemetery.

Ciaran Murphy, Glenbrook, Kilbrittain Village and Sacramento, California
The parish has been deeply saddened by the sudden death of Ciaran, eldest son of our Sacristan Mai,  in Sacramento on Saturday last. We offer our heartfelt prayers and sympathy to his parents, Mai and Pat, his brother and sister and his many friends.

 

Margaret Hurley, Ballymore

Margaret, whose friendliness to everybody made her one of the best-known and loved of our neighbours, passed away on Sunday 22nd Sept at the age of 93. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Hurley (Kilbrittain) on September 22nd 2019, at Cork University Hospital. Margaret (nee Dineen), wife of the late David, Ballymore and dear mother of Dan, Rita (Ruttle) and Artie and sister of the late Joan (Crowley) and Kay (Eley).
Sadly missed by her loving family, sister Sr. Mary Dymphna, son-in-law Arthur, nephews, nieces, family friend Teresa, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Lying in repose at Gabriel and O’Donovan’s Funeral Home, Bandon on Tuesday evening from 7pm followed by Rosary at 9pm.
Reception Prayers on Thursday morning at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain followed by Requiem Mass at 12 noon, funeral afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.
